Cameron AG “Homeward Bound” EP out now

Homeward Bound, the gorgeous new EP from Cameron AG, came out on Friday. If you haven’t listened yet, you’re doing it wrong. “This EP is all about dealing with weird stupid anxieties that go on in all of our heads,” explains Cameron. “Well, most of our heads. Definitely mine. It’s about trying to overcome them and not give a shit about stupid pointless problems that take over our minds.” Now join us in crossing our fingers in hopes of getting this Oxford, UK-based songwriter across the pond sooner rather than later.

Hippo Campus announce debut album “landmark”, share “boyish” music video

No more waiting. This morning, Hippo Campus have announced their debut full-length, landmark, due via Grand Jury on February 24th. You can pre-order your copy in the GJ shop right now, or get physical bundles, music with tickets, or the old reliable download over at hippocampusband.com. What’s more, the guys unveiled a mesmerizing music video for landmark’s “Boyish,” and a whole grip of headline dates, including a pair of First Avenues in their native Minneapolis, that run from February to April of next year. Our friends over at AV Club just debuted the Hyper House-directed clip earlier today, which you can watch below. And, as usual, you’ll find all dates and tickets over in our tour section. Finally!

Hippo Campus share new single “boyish”

This is the first new Hippo Campus song in 371 days. That’s over a year, but, you know, who’s counting, right? …right?

After hearing it, we think you’ll agree that it was worth the wait. Our friends over at NPR certainly seemed to concur today when they showcased “Boyish” in the latest installment of All Songs Considered.

So, yes, rousing from a calendar-length slumber should probably be read as a sign of exciting things to come. But we won’t spoil anything just yet. In the meantime, be sure to check the guys out on the road with Saint Motel starting this weekend, and snag or stream “Boyish” now.

Twin Peaks share “Holding Roses” music video

Any day with a new Twin Peaks video is better than the day before it. So let’s all give thanks to the fresh clip for “Holding Roses,” animated by Peaks’ kind-of-terrifyingly-talented Chicago brethren Goons. Also, in keeping with their typical exhaustive approach to touring, the dudes are back out on the road RIGHT NOW, the same day they’ve announced another round of headline dates this Winter. The secret to eternal youth, it would seem, is running it again. Check the tour section for more.

Cameron A G announces new EP “Homeward Bound”

Our roster and our hearts swell today, as we announce a new addition to the GJ family: Cameron AG. We’ll be releasing his heartbreaking EP, Homeward Bound, on November 4th, but today you can hear the lead single, “Walk Your Line.” “A small army of guitars and programmed beats coalesce around Cameron’s high-pitched cries,” says Stereogum in their write-up, “building from shady verses beneath the tree line to a massive, colorful panoramic chorus.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Pick up the track over on iTunes, or stream it at your service of choice. More soon.

Mothers

Mothers “When You Walk a Long Distance You Are Tired” deluxe edition out today

Earlier this year, we had the distinct pleasure of releasing Mothers’ When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired. It’s a hauntingly beautiful piece of art-damaged rock and tangled anti-folk that got everyone from NPR to the New York Times up in arms. Since then the band has toured basically non-stop (they’re playing Lolla this weekend, as a matter of fact!) Today, they pause in the midst of their year-long trek across America to unveil a deluxe edition of the album, featuring five previously-unheard songs, including “Easy As Possible,” which is also available on 7″ at your local record store or over in our GJ shop. The new tunes add even more depth to one of the most special things we’ve ever released. Hear for yourself now.

Go watch/read it. Then go see Esme on the road. Then be happy.
