Twin Peaks live album “Urbs In Horto” out today

The best Twin Peaks is live Twin Peaks. Everyone knows this. And that’s why Urbs In Horto exists. In late 2016, the boys laid down two nights’ worth of performances to tape in their native Chicago. creating this slab of righteousness in the process. Out today digitally, available in your local record shop 5/5 (or from the band’s merch booth right now as they hit the road with Hinds), this thing plays like a greatest hits turned all the way up to 11. Don’t sleep. Listen on Spotify above or snap up that download on iTunes, then pre-order your gorgeous 2XLP immediately. You won’t regret it.

Formation debut album “Look At The Powerful People” out today

Today marks the digital release of Formation’s incredible debut LP, Look At The Powerful People. There’s funk. There’s punk. There’s dance. There’s jazz. There’s loud. There’s soft. There’s anger. There’s compassion. We could go on, but why don’t you just listen for yourself? The boys are getting heaps of praise across the Atlantic, and will be making their American bow later this year. We’ll be releasing a physical version of the album to celebrate their stateside performances. In the meantime, turn this up loud.

Hippo Campus debut album “landmark” out today

It’s been a long time since Hippo Campus released new music. Some might argue too long. Then again, those people probably haven’t listened to landmark yet. The band’s long-anticipated debut LP was released today, and it’s an absolute revelation, worth every second the band spent perfecting its 13 tracks. Listen on Spotify, get it on iTunes, or chase those limited edition LPs, 500 on opaque yellow at indie retail, and a precious few remaining of the opaque blue version at Electric Fetus. The band recently played the full album for a listener event for their hometown KCMP, which you can watch below. Or, go see them in the flesh, as they’re hitting the road in support of the new record right now.

NE-HI new album “Offers” out today.

Someone on Twitter put it best: “Imagine Sleater-Kinney and REM had a baby. That baby would be NE-HI. Listen to their record. Is good.” Yes, Offers is here. Stream it on Spotify, own it on iTunes, or get that sweet, sweet clear vinyl from Shuga in Chicago. Then go see them tour forever. Thanks, today. You’re pretty great.

Twin Peaks announce “Urbs In Horto” live album

Our brothers in Twin Peaks never sleep. We’re still only nine months out from the release of Down In Heaven, but the boys refuse to stop. Up next? Urbs In Horto, a live double-LP, recorded over their multi-night, multi-venue stand at Metro and Thalia Hall in December of 2016. Tracked to 2-inch tape ever so lovingly by our friends over at Treehouse, this thing sounds insanely good. For proof just listen to “Have You Ever?” above. LP is coming on 5/5 (because vinyl takes a long time, man…), but you can get the digital starting on 3/31. Pre-order from iTunes or directly from the band (where you can also get a pretty incredible poster).

In other news, the dudes just announced a string of headline dates (tour section for tix) after their Hinds run and Coachella conquest. And while it’s hard to believe, this is just the beginning of what 2017 has in store. No, really.

Formation share new single “A Friend”

Well, well, well. Today we’re pleased to announce the latest member of the Grand Jury and our favorite band in the the United Kingdom: Formation. This morning, Crack Magazine premiered the new music video (that’s it above) for “A Friend,” taken from their forthcoming debut album, Look At The Powerful People. Like the album itself, the video is a tour de force of passion, aggression, confusion, love – how 2017, right?

The album is coming digitally on March 24th, while physical copies will hit the states in May to coincide with a tour of America. More on that soon.

Hippo Campus share “way it goes” music video

Yesterday, Hippo Campus returned with a new video for “way it goes,” the latest song released from their forthcoming debut, landmark, due February 24th via Grand Jury.

Directed by frequent-collaborators Hyper House, the clip was premiered yesterday by our friends over at Noisey. “The Minnesota quartet oscillate between melancholic lo-fi gems and colorful, energetic tracks,” says Noisey, “think Ezra Koenig fronting Real Estate.” “way it goes” is decidedly one of the latter, a song Noisey called “pretty much the perfect song to get lost to, driving down the 405, your hair whipping in the wind.

Pre-order the album over at hippocampusband.com, and check out all of the band’s upcoming tour dates – including recently announced festival performances at Bonnaroo and Bottle Rock – in the tour section.

Hippo Campus share “monsoon” music video

With last month’s release of “boyish,” anticipation for Hippo Campus’ new album “landmark” has been mounting. Luckily the dudes don’t like making people wait, so they’ve returned with “monsoon,” another tune from their February 24th debut LP. Hat tip to Northern Transmissions for sending the accompanying lyric video out into the world. Pre-order the album now to get both “boyish” and “monsoon” immediately, and don’t forget to grab some tickets for their massive headline tour which kicks off next year.
